Why is my refrigerator not cooling?
A refrigerator that has gone warm often has a problem with airflow, defrosting or a part of the cooling system.
Some checks are safe to do yourself. Make sure the temperature setting is where you left it, the door closes fully, and nothing blocks the door or the vents inside. Check that the plug is seated. If the breaker tripped, reset it once; if it trips again, leave it off and call.
Why is the fridge warm when the freezer works?
When the freezer stays cold but the fresh-food side warms up, cold air is often not getting across. A fan that has stopped, or frost blocking the airflow, can cause that. Look for frost on the back wall of the freezer, listen for whether a fan is running, and tell us what you notice. Do not scrape the frost off.
Why is my refrigerator leaking water?
Water on the floor often comes from a clogged defrost drain, a loose water line to the ice maker or dispenser, or a door that is not sealing and lets damp air in. Note where it shows up: inside, in front or underneath. Wipe it up so nobody slips, and keep away from the plug if the floor near it is wet.
Why is ice building up in my freezer?
Frost or ice on the freezer walls often points to a door that is not sealing, or to a defrost problem. Check that the door closes completely and no package props it open. Do not chip at the ice with a knife or any tool; the lines run close behind the walls.
Why is my refrigerator loud or running all the time?
A loud hum, repeated clicking or a unit that never seems to stop can mean a fan, a start-up part or the sealed system. Those sit behind panels, involve live electrics, and the cooling system is sealed, so none of it is a home job. Stop here and call. Leave the panels shut, and do not try to slide the refrigerator out.
We also repair ice makers. If the trouble is the ice maker or the water dispenser, say so when you call.
What should I do if food is at risk right now?
If food is at risk, call instead of sending the form. Keep the refrigerator and freezer doors shut while you do, so the cold stays inside as long as possible.
What does the visit cost?
For a refrigerator, the $75 pays for us to come to your home and find the fault. If you go ahead, the visit costs you $0, and the repair is quoted separately: a flat-rate quote before any work starts, with no pressure to say yes. If you decide against it, the $75 is the whole charge (how pricing works).
What should I tell you when I call?
Food at risk goes by phone, as above. Everything else can come through the request form. Useful details:
- The brand, and the model number if there is a label you can read inside the fresh-food compartment.
- What it is doing: warm everywhere, warm on the fridge side only, leaking, loud.
- When it started, and whether the power went out around then.
Which refrigerator brands do you repair?
Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, GE, Frigidaire and Maytag refrigerators are on the list, and if your brand isn't, call and ask.

FAQ
Why is my fridge warm when the freezer is still cold?
Cold air is often not reaching the fresh-food side, for example because a fan has stopped or frost is blocking the airflow. Finding out which is what the diagnostic visit is for.
Do I pay the $75 if you repair my refrigerator?
No. The visit costs $0 when you go ahead with the repair. If you decide against it, the $75 is the whole charge and nothing else is owed.
Do you come to Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood?
Yes, to your home. Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood in Broward County are covered, along with Miami in Miami-Dade and West Palm Beach in Palm Beach County.
